The car dealer ad size cheat sheet

The right size means no awkward cropping and no text hidden behind buttons. Here’s every size a dealership commonly needs — social, website, email, display and print.

Each platform crops images differently, and a design made for one spot rarely works in another. A square post squeezed into a homepage slider loses the vehicle; a wide banner shrunk into a Story becomes unreadable. Use this cheat sheet to make each version the right shape from the start.

Dealer website platforms each have their own banner sizes, and they often crop the edges on phones. Keep the text grouped on one side, away from the edges, and let the vehicle fill the other side. See website banners.

Email

Most email designs are about 600 pixels wide, so create images at double that width for sharp results on high-resolution screens — and assume some readers have images turned off, so repeat the key offer in the email text. See email marketing for car dealerships.

Make every size from one design

Instead of rebuilding an ad for each spot, design once and adapt. In DealerAdGen, every size above is a ready-made option (plus any custom size), and a campaign set makes matching versions of the same design for a feed post, story, website banner, email header and Google Business post at once. Platforms change their recommendations from time to time, so it’s worth checking each one’s help pages for the latest specs.
